Oris’s mission to bring Change for the Better continues with a new partnership and a new limited-edition watch. The New York Harbor Limited Edition has been created to raise funds and awareness for the Billion Oysters Project (BOP), which is working to restore the famous waterway’s oyster population. By 2035, the BOP wants to see one billion oysters in the harbor, a figure that will only be reached if the harbor’s water quality improves significantly. Oris is passionate about water quality – water is the source of life – and is hugely excited to be partners with this ambitious environmental project. The watch that helps tell the story is based on Aquis Date 41.5 mm diver’s watch. It has been given a natural green finish to reflect the colour of the harbor water, and a green mother-of-pearl dial inspired by shimmering oyster shells. It’s an automatic, water-resistant to 30 bar (300 m) and has a uni-directional rotating bezel with a steel insert finished with a minutes scale in relief. It’s supplied on a green rubber strap and with an additional stainless steel bracelet and a handy strap change tool. Each of the 2,000 limited-edition pieces will be numbered.
